My 9 Year Old

Katie is 9! WoW that is weird to say!

She had a fun day spending time with family, friends at church and having lunch at Ruby Tuesday with her friends Jilly & Haley. Next week the big bash!

She loved her presents...A cake decorating kit! Ever since Kelly got her Easy Bake Oven that's all Katie talks about. I liked this because we could make real food and she can decorate all she wants! She especially loves the turn table for the cake.

She is having fun building their new lego house (shares with Ben), dressing up Mia in her new clothes and wearing her new boots!

Benjamin Owen turns 6!!!!!

My little baby boy, my BoBo, my little

love bug turned 6 this past week. That morning when I asked him if he felt different, he said, "No I feel like I'm 2" that's my boy! Always cracking a joke. I put streamers on his door and he was surprised and very excited to run through them of course! He had a great day, first pancakes for breakfast, YUMMY. Off to school he went after a nice smooch for his Mommy! He still loves to give me a kiss goodbye :)

When I got home, he was having fun playing

g the Wii. Nana & Poppy got him and Katie a new game, RESORT. That night we went out to Denny's for his favorite, JR GRAND SLAM! Once we got home, present time!

Fun Stuff

Cold Days of January...

Just a few pictures from the last few weeks. Nothing to exciting. Just keeping busy as usual. One of our favorite things to do is play the Wii together at night or play Qwerkle. It's a super fun game that we can all play and enjoy!

Our Lego Boy!

Ben LOVES all the Lego's he got for Christmas! He spent hours in his room over Christmas break working on building this really cool Coast Guard helicopter. He finished it all on his own and was so proud of himself. Look at that face :)

What's New?????

Happy New Year!!!! 2010! WoW that sounds so strange to say. What's even more strange to say is by the end of this month I will have a 9 year old and 6 year old! Now that's a WoW!

Yes my little love bugs are getting big. They are lucky I'm writing about them today because this morning I had to give a BIG yell! Lately all they do is fight. They can't go 30 minutes without getting themselves spoken to, sent to their rooms or have to sit and hold hands.

Yes, I make them sit and hold hands if they can't get along. I don't use that to often because it's torture for Katie. Ben does everything he can to annoy her even more and really, it's just more frustration for me.

So here are my loves...

Ben got himself dressed for school on this day and wanted to wear his Christmas tie. Isn't he the cutest!!!
Just before Christmas we got a major snowstorm! The shoreline, us, got about 2 feet and inland got about 6-10. The kids had a great time playing in the snow and we went sledding one afternoon too. Another day we baked cookies to get ready for Christmas. I participated in the cookie swap at work and then Katie & Ben made sugar cookies. They both take after their Daddy and love to cook and bake.

Christmas...ahhh it seems so long ago. Isn't it funny how we spend weeks preparing for it and then, POOF, gone. Well I still have decorations up. Yup, I do and I am admitting that I'm being lazy. Lazy, lazy, lazy. The kids spent a lot of time putting up that Christmas village and I like it so it's staying up another week. Candles in the front window? Yup. Garland around the doorway? Yup. Nutcrackers still on mantle? You got it!

I know I was off all last week, but really it's like the saying goes, "I need a vacation after the vacation". We had a great week off. We did whatever, whenever. I loved it. We did take the tree down! Jason always volunteers to do that!

Oh right, I was going to tell you about our holiday. We spent Christmas Eve at Marcella and Paul's new house! I loved it!!! It is an old house in really good condition. Look at the wood work! Oh, and Santa came to visit the kids! It was all very exciting. I'm not sure what was more fun, Santa's visit or winning the Lemon cello in the annual Yankee Swap. Those Turner's are tough :)

Amy, Ryan's wife, is due in May and feeling good! They are very excited about the arrival of their little...boy!

In December we visited with lots of friends! Jason and I always say we are truly blessed to have such a loving family and wonderful friends.
